3rd St Martin's Half Marathon 2010
Paese (Italy), Sunday 7 November 2010
The Maratonina di San Martino in northern Italy is held a few days before St Martin's Day (November 11), which is traditionally the first day when the new wine is tasted.
Like many other running events on the Venetian Plain, the race features a flat and fast course.
The start is approximately 2.5 kilometres from the small town of Paese, the finish is in town.
Paese is located just outside Treviso, 30 kilometres to the north of Venice. The Treviso airport, where several low-cost airlines operate, is around 2 kilometres away.
The route, which is closed to traffic, runs through fields and villages, mostly on asphalt roads.
Entrants who are not members of the Italian Athletic Federation FIDAL may have to provide a medical certificate at registration and pay an additional 5 Euros.
In 2009, the race had over 500 finishers. The winners were Benazzouz Slimani (1:05:51) and Giovanna Ricotta (1:18:56).
