7th Wink Marathon 2010
Due to bad weather postponed from 16 May to 29 May 2010!
The Wink Marathon is a relatively small event, named after the shoe company that sponsors it. It is staged in Siófok, the largest resort on the almost 80km-long Lake Balaton in Hungary.
Held each year in mid-May, it offers a good chance to visit Siófok before the high tourist season begins and the town becomes the "Party Capital of Hungary".
Runners can choose between the 42km marathon, the 21km half marathon, the 5k race, two relay races, and inline skating races.
The course is flat and AIMS-certified. Participants run 7-kilometre loops along the lakeside promenade and tree-lined avenues with many elegant turn-of-the-century villas.
In 2009, the marathon winners were Béla Horváth (2:38:58) and Réka Bátai (2:59:02).
