6th Lake Ossiach Night Half Marathon 2010
Ossiach (Austria), 16 July 2010
The Ossiachersee is a popular summer holiday destination in the south of Austria, not far from the borders with Italy and Slovenia. The lake is 11 kilometres long and up to 1.7 kilometres wide.
Held on a summer evening, the Nachhalbmarathon has become ever more popular. Last year, the event saw more than 750 participants.
Entrants choose between the half marathon, the 7k run or the 7k nordic walking competition.
In 2010, the half marathon starts in Bodensdorf on the northern shore.
The finish is in Ossiach, the main resort on the southern shore.
The route runs along undulating roads and cycle paths anticlockwise around the lake.
In 2009, the half marathon winners were Erich Kokaly (1:14:08) and Ulrike Striednig (1:34:47).
