Vienna (Austria), Sunday 11 April 2010
The Mariahilfer Strasse is four kilometres long and one of Vienna's most busy shopping streets.
It runs from the inner city through two districts west of the city centre, the 6th and the 15th. Most of the shopping mania takes place in the 6th disctrict.
Run15 is staged in the further outlying 15th district, the most multicultural part of Vienna. One in three residents was born outside Austria.
The event consists of an 8km race, a 4km fun run, a nordic walking competition and several children's races, all held on a 1km-long out-and-back section of Mariahilfer Strasse.
In 2009, the fastest 8k runners were Thomas Srb (26:36) and Carola Bendl-Tschiedel (33:00).
