Petelinje Race 2009
The 12km Petelinjski tek ('Petelinje Race') takes runners through a beautiful and thinly-populated landscape which features one of Slovenia's most unusual natural phenomena.
The route passes two 'intermittent' lakes which disappear seasonally in underground limestone caverns in the Karst.
The race is run mainly on undulating dirt roads and trails and partly on asphalt roads.
Children run several laps around the village. The event also offers a guided walk starting at 2pm and lasting about three hours.
