Fine views from the summit!

This mountain running race in the far north of Croatia takes you from the small town of Ivanec, situated a half marathon distance away from the beautiful Baroque town of Varaždin, to the finish line on the summit of Mount Ivanščica (also called Ivančica) at an elevation of 1051 meters.

The 13km route features an elevation gain of approximately 900 meters.

Apart from the first 3km, which are run on asphalt roads, the route is entirely on dirt roads through forests, so most of the route is in the shade. The route is — more or less — a gradual climb with some shorter downhill sections.

From the lookout tower on the summit there are marvellous panoramic views of the Hrvatsko Zagorje hills and of the plain around Varaždin.

In 2008, the winners were Ivica Škopac (57:12) and Danijela Černić (1:10:44). The course records are held by Drago Paripović (53:50) and Barbara Belušić (1:07:03).
