Mountain marathon of the four municipalities

Wonderful countryside, stunning mountain scenery and great views are guaranteed on the 35km loop through this beautiful remote part of the Slovene Alps. And some who have done the race say the organization couldn't be any better. But you need to be well prepared. Overall, you will have to run 2550 metres up and 2550 metres down.

After the start at 803 metres above sea level you will run up to a mountain ridge at 1760m, descend to the valley floor at 361m, climb up to a mountain hut at 1590m on the other side of the valley, and gallop down to the start/finish area.

The course will be well-marked, and there will be 17 drinks stations with water, energy drinks and light food, but don't mess about for too long, the time limit stands at eight hours.

Last year's winners both came from the area. Marjan Župančič from Bohinjska Bistrica won in 3:40:12, Danica Kovačič from Tolmin led the ladies home in 4:10:24.
