10th Štanjel Race

Štanjel and the Karst

Located by the picturesque medieval hilltop village of Štanjel, this event promises a great day out in Slovenia's Primorska region, 25 kilometres from the Adriatic Sea.

The 8.2km race follows a hilly route through the dry and rocky limestone plateau of the Karst.

Most of the route is on dirt roads through the forest, approximately one kilometre is on asphalt.

After the race participants indulge in the local culinary delights - air-dried pršut ham and Teran, a slightly sour, ruby-red wine.
