3rd Jošt Mountain Race 2009
Mount Jošt is an immensely popular destination for pilgrims, walkers, cyclists and runners. There are numerous footpaths leading to the church and the mountain hut on the top, and the views to the Karavanke mountains and Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, are marvellous.
This mountain race takes a route through the woods from the north. It's not complicated to enter (on the day), not expensive (€8), not too long (6.5km), not too difficult (450m up), and there will be a free lunch for all runners at the top.
The organizers will transport your bag up the mountain, but you will have to walk down in the afternoon.
Last year, the overall winners were Georges Burrier of France and Valeria Mrak of Slovenia.
