Held annually in the summer in the ski resort of Donovaly, the Donovaly Night Run draws a crowd of several hundred runners from all over Slovakia.
Donovaly sits at an elevation of 960 metres on a mountain pass between Banská Bystrica und Ružomberok in the central part of the country and is a popular base for hiking into the mountains on either side of the mountain pass road—the Veľká Fatra (Great Fatra) and the Starohorské vrchy (Staré Hory Mountains).
Both the 5k and the 10k are hilly multi-terrain races offering fine views of the surrounding mountain scenery.
