This félmaraton (half marathon) features an undulating two-lap course through Veszprém, an old town of about 60,000 people, situated thirteen kilometres from the northern shore of Lake Balaton in Hungary.

The route winds its way through the town centre, it passes the várhegy (Castle Hill, pictured above), it takes the runners along the green Veszprémvőlgy (Veszprém Valley) and it crosses the imposing Szent István völgyhíd (St. Stephen’s Viaduct) which commands superb views of the castle district and of the wooded hills of the Bakony region.
