The Noční běhy Chebskem is an annual series of night running events held in the Okres Cheb (Cheb District), the westernmost district of the Czech Republic, bordering Germany's states of Bayern (Bavaria) and Sachsen (Saxony).
Each event features a 1k run for children (15 years and under) and a 5k race.
In 2019, the series consists of five races:
Date | Venue |
March 16 | Třebeň |
April 27 | Cheb |
June 8 | Aš |
September 14 | Františkovy Lázně |
October 19 | Plesná |
The races are very different in character — on road, off road, flat, hilly, there's s bit of everything for all types of runners.
The best-known venues of the series are the historic town of Cheb (German: Eger; pictured) and the famous Bohemian spa of Františkovy Lázně (Franzensbad).
But each single race is a great way to explore more of this fascinating region.
