This Silvestrovský běh (New Year's Eve Run) is held in Jihlava, an old town of about 53,000 inhabitants, located on the border between the historical regions of Bohemia and Moravia in the Czech Republic.
The event offers races for runners of all ages and abilities:
- 850m for children 7-9 years old and for adult fun runners
- 1.55km for children 10-15 years old
- 2.85km for young athletes 16-17 years old, for women 18 years and older, and for men 70 years and older
- 5.45km for men 18-69 years old
Starting at Základní škola Křížová, a primary school situated 250 metres from Masarykovo náměstí, Jihlava's main square (pictured), the route winds its way through the northern part of the historic town centre and through parkland.
