Held annually since 1949, the Höhenstraßenlauf in Austria's capital city Wien (Vienna) is a road running event with a long tradition.

Starting on the wooded Leopoldsberg (pictured above), the race follows a hilly 14.3km point-to-point course along Vienna's longest road, the Wiener Höhenstraße, a historic panoramic road built on the slopes of the Wienerwald hills on the north-western edge of the city.

Made of granite paving stones, the Höhenstraße was completed in 1938. It features hairpin turns like an alpine road.

The finish line is on the athletics track of the Sportplatz Marswiese.

From start to finish, the course drops approximately 110 metres.

During the race, the course is closed to all traffic.
