Held in Grömitz, an over-200-year-old resort on the Baltic Sea coast in Germany's state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Grömitzer Sun-Run offers races for all ages and abilities. Last year, almost 800 athletes took part in the event:

Starting and finishing at the Seebrücke pier, all races are run out and back along the beach promenade.
Participants in the half marathon also run a loop through agricultural areas away from the coast, passing the Cismar Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded in 1238.
