Prague (Czech Republic), Sunday 28 May 2017
The Trail Praha is staged on Petřin, a green hill in the city centre of Prague, capital of the Czech Republic.
This year, the event features two multi-terrain races: 5km and 10km.
Starting and finishing near the summit of the hill, the 5k is one lap and the 10k is two laps of a very challenging course. Each lap includes 250 metres of ascent and 250 metres of descent.
The race is run on mixed terrain (asphalt, cobbles, trails and stairs) through lovely parks, gardens, woods and orchards.
The route visits various sights such as the Štefánik Observatory, the medieval Hunger Wall and the imposing Strahov Monastery (pictured below). It also offers fabulous views of Prague Castle and of the picturesque Malá Strana quarter.
The Trail Praha is the second race of this year's Kilpi Trail Running Cup (KTRC) which comprises nine running events in Czechia.
