The Maraton treh src, also known by its English name Three Hearts Marathon, is by far the biggest running event in the eastern part of Slovenia.
In 2016, approximately 4,500 competitors took part in the event.

The 5.5km and 10km races take place on Slovenian soil whereas the half and the full marathon are cross-border races that connect two spa towns — Radenci in Slovenia and Bad Radkersburg in Austria. Particants in the 42.2km marathon cross the state border four times.
All routes start and end at the thermal spa resort of Zdravilišče Radenci which is situated on the River Mura, between beautiful vineyard-clad hills to the south-west and flat agricultural land to the north-east — a popular breeding destination for white storks.
The 21.1km and 42.2km routes take the runners to the town of Gornja Radgona, across the border into Austria, and through the old town of Bad Radkersburg.
From there, the half marathon runners run back to Radenci. The marathoners, however, run a 21km-long loop through farmland and villages, both in Austria and Slovenia, before they head for the finish in Radenci.
The course is gently undulating. The difference between the lowest and the highest point on the marathon course is 35 metres.
The time limit to complete the 42.2km marathon is six hours.
This year, the Maraton treh src will incorporate the Slovene Half Marathon Championships.
