Gonars (Italy), Sunday 12 March 2017
The Cjaminade fra Amis is a non-competitive event that draws over 2,000 runners and hikers to the village of Gonars in the Friuli area in the north-east of Italy.
Four very flat routes are available, approximately 6km, 12km, 21km and 30km long. You can still decide on the course which distance you want to run (or walk).
The route runs on mixed terrain (asphalt, gravel and trails) through agricultural land, woods, vineyards and villages on the vast Bassa Friulana plain.
There will be several feed stations along the course, some of them offering local delicacies like wine and musetto (a type of spiced pork sausage). After the run, more food and drinks will be available at very reasonable prices.
The entry fees are very low (€3) and even lower (€2.50) if you are registered with the FIASP (Federazione Italiana Amatori Sport Per tutti) sports association.
