Berlin (Germany), Sunday 5 March 2017
The Lauf im Britzer Garten ("Run in the Britz Garden") is the first race of the Berliner Läufercup 2017, a series of 15 running events in Germany's capital Berlin.
It is held in the Britzer Garten, a 90-hectare landscaped park that was created for the Bundesgartenschau (Federal Horticultural Show) 1985 in the southern part of the city.
In 2016, 480 runners took part in the 10km race, which consists of three laps (1km+4.5km+4.5km) of a gently-undulating course.
Nico Matysik defended his title in a fine time of 31 minutes 57 seconds. Agnes Lukasiewicz was the fastest woman in 38 minutes 49 seconds.
The event also features two races for children (1km, 3km) and a 5.5km competition for power walkers and nordic walkers.
Free entry to the park is included in the registration fees.
