The Majcichovská desiatka (or short: "M-10") in Slovakia is a 10k road race that has been held, with interruptions, since 1979.

It's a prestigious event, and many strong runners have taken part in the race.

The course records were set by Jozef Lenčéš (29 minutes 41 seconds) back in 1982 and by Ľudmila Melicherová (34 minutes 21 seconds) in 1987.

In 2016, the fastest finishers were Alexander Jablokov (32 minutes 29 seconds) and Petra Fašungová (36 minutes 1 second).

Last year, 413 runners crossed the finish line — a record number of finishers.

Held in Majcichov, a village of about 2,000 people, situated near the city of Trnava in western Slovakia, the course is flat and fast, and it is also accurately measured and certified by the Slovak Athletic Federation SAZ.

The race begins at 11.45am with the ceremonial start at the municipal office, from where all participants jog together to the start line.

Starting at the stroke of 12 noon, competitors run back to the municipal office (1,015 metres) and then three laps of a 2,995-metre-long course through the village.
