The Mandø Marathon draws approximately 400 to 500 runners to the little North Sea island of Mandø in Denmark.

Located in the Wadden Sea National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the island is surrounded by vast mudflats and tidal marshes.

At low tide, Mandø can be reached by car or tractor bus via a 4km-long (and 60cm-high) unpaved causeway which connects the island with the Jutland Peninsula.
