Lago di Caldaro (Italy), Sunday 2 April 2017

The Mezza Maratona Lago di Caldaro (German: Kalterersee Halbmarathon) features an undulating route around Lake Kaltern in Italy's northernmost province of South Tyrol, an amazingly beautiful part of the country where native speakers of German and Italian live side by side.

Two race distances are on offer:

• 10.55km corsa panoramica (Panoramalauf)
• 21.1km mezza maratona (Halbmarathon)

The quarter marathon is one lap around the lake. The half marathon is two laps.

The route is very appealing as it runs all the way through orchards and vineyards and lovely scenery. The course has been accurately measured by the Italian Athletic Association FIDAL.

Last year, the half marathon winners were Günther Mair (1hr 11min 37sec) and Petra Pircher (1hr 24min 34sec). The time limit to finish the race is 2hr 30min.
