Pfaffstätten-Mödling (Austria), Sunday 4 September 2016
The Weinstraßenlauf (‘Wine Road Run’) is a very undulating 10k point-to-point road race through a lovely wine-producing region in Austria's state of Niederösterreich (Lower Austria).
Starting in the village of Pfaffstätten, which sits approximately 25 kilometres south of Vienna's city centre, the route runs northwards through beautiful vineyards and through the pretty village of Gumpoldskirchen to the finish line in the town of Mödling, which is just about 15 kilometres from Vienna.
Last year, 221 runners from eight countries took part in the Weinstraßenlauf. The top finishers were Daniel Haußner (35:12) and Irene Reichl (39:00).
