Havířov (Czech Republic), Saturday 15 October 2016
The Havířovská desítka ("Havířov Ten") takes place in Havířov, a town of about 74,000 inhabitants in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic.
Havířov is a young and very green town, situated in a coal-mining and steel-producing area near Ostrava, the third-largest city in the country.
The event features a kids' run, a 5k, a 10k and a 10k relay for teams of four runners.
The route is a mainly-flat 2.5-kilometre-long loop through the town centre, which was built in the 1950s in the style of socialist realism. The start/finish area is on the main square, náměstí Republiky (pictured above). The race is run on roads and cycleways.
