The Fackellauf ("Torch Run"), or Bieg przy Pochodniach in Polish, attracts more than 300 runners from both sides of the River Neiße which cuts the historic city of Görlitz-Zgorzelec in two — Görlitz in Germany and Zgorzelec in Poland.

Two race distances are available: 4km (one lap) and 8km (two laps).

Starting at 6.30pm at the Altstadtbrücke (Most Staromiejski) footbridge in the city centre (pictured), participants run through both the German and the Polish part of the city, crossing two torch-lit bridges.
