11. Kalterersee Halbmarathon 2016
Lago di Caldaro (Italy), Sunday 20 March 2016
The Mezza Maratona Lago di Caldaro features an undulating and very scenic route around Lake Kaltern (Italian: Lago di Caldaro; German: Kalterer See) in South Tyrol, an amazingly beautiful alpine province in the far north of Italy where native speakers of German and Italian live side by side.
Two race distances are on offer:
- 10.55km corsa panoramica (Panoramalauf, one lap around the lake)
- 21.1km mezza maratona (Halbmarathon, half marathon, two laps)
The route is very appealing as it runs all the way through orchards and vineyards and lovely scenery. The course has been accurately measured by the Italian Athletic Association FIDAL.
In 2015, the half marathon winners were Georg Brunner (1:11:00) and Karin Freitag (1:17:04). The time limit to finish the race is 2 hours 30 minutes.
