Laipacco di Tricesimo (Italy), Sunday 13 March 2016
Set in the picturesque rolling countryside to the north of Udine, a beautiful old city in Italy's Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, the Cjaminade di San Josef is a non-competitive event that is popular with runners and walkers alike.
The Cjaminade forms part of the Sagra di San Giuseppe festival which is held annually in March in the village of Laipacco di Tricesimo.
Two very scenic routes are on offer, 7km and 14km long.
Participants run (or walk) through farmland, woods and vineyards and along the River Cormor. They also pass a number of truly impressive villas.
Both routes are well marked and on mixed terrain, mostly on trails. Some sections are on asphalt. On a rainy day, some of the trails can become a bit muddy, so you may prefer to take your trail shoes.
