Teor (Italy), Sunday 28 February 2016
Alla Scoperta del Fiume Stella invites runners and hikers to explore the roads and trails around the River Stella which flows across the Bassa Friulana Plain in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in the north-east of Italy.
There won't be any timekeeping or results lists as this is a marcia, a non-competitive event for runners and walkers. Prizes will not be awarded to the fastest finishers but to the largest groups. It doesn't matter at all if you run or jog or walk.
Participants can choose between three very flat routes (6km, 12km and 21km long), and they can still decide on the course which route they want to take.
Starting and finishing in the village of Teor, which is just about 16km from the Laguna di Marano on the Adriatic, all routes run on mixed terrain through agricultural areas, vineyards and small villages.
Weather permitting, the views of the Alps in the distance are fabulous!
