Berlin (Germany), Sunday 21 August 2016
The Kreuzberger Viertelmarathon ("Kreuzberg Quarter Marathon") is held in the densely-populated, multicultural and lively Kreuzberg area in Berlin.
Participants run 10.5 kilometres of an out-and-back course which begins and ends on the athletics track of the TiB Sportzentrum.
The route runs through residential areas in Kreuzberg 61 (the western part of Kreuzberg) into the heart of Kreuzberg 36 where the course is lined with bars, cafes, take-aways and restaurants.
Last year, more than 450 runners took part in the Viertelmarathon. The fastest finishers were Niels Bubel (32min 12sec) and Dorina Schmidt (41min 49sec).
In addition to the quarter marathon, the event offers a 2.3k race for children and a 5k for fun runners, walkers and nordic walkers.
