Approximately 1,300 runners took part in last year's Grænseløbet (German: Grenzlauf) in Kruså, a Danish village on the Denmark-Germany border.

Two races are on offer: 5.15km and 11.7km. Both routes are undulating on mixed terrain (asphalt, gravel and trails), mostly through woods and farmland.

The 5.15km run is held entirely on Danish soil whereas the 11.7km race takes the runners across a footbridge (pictured) into Germany and then, after about two kilometres, through another border crossing back into Denmark.

Entrants to the 11.7km cross-border run must provide their passport details at registration. It is not necessary to carry the passport with you during the race.
