Velký Osek (Czech Republic), Saturday 24 October 2015
In the autumn of 2015, a new running event is to be held in Velký Osek, a village of about 2,200 inhabitants, situated 60km to the east of Praha (Prague).
The Velkoosecká podzimní "12" (Velký Osek Autumn "12") will offer a children's race (1km), a fun run (2km), two multi-terrain races (6km, 12km), and a wheelchair race (14km).
Starting and finishing at a lake on the edge of the village, the 12km race is two laps of a mostly-flat course which runs through farmland, along the River Labe (Elbe), and through the Národní přírodní rezervace Libický luh (National Nature Reserve Libický luh), the largest riparian forest in the Czech Republic.
Participants in the 6km race will run one lap of this course.
The wheelchair race will be held on the cycleway that connects Velký Osek and the village of Veltruby.
