Havířov (Czech Republic), Saturday 17 October 2015
The Havířská desítka ("Havířov 10k") is a new event, to be held in mid-October 2015 in Havířov, a town of about 75,000 people in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic.
Havířov is a young and very green town, situated in a coal-mining and steel-producing area near Ostrava, the third-largest city in the country.
Three race distances are available — 2.5km and 10km for runners, and 15km for handbikers.
The route is a 2.5km-long loop through the town centre, which was built in the 1950s in the style of socialist realism. The start/finish area is on the main square, náměstí Republiky (pictured above).
The course is mostly flat and fast, and it will be closed to traffic during the race.
The race will take the runners through the Park Na Nábřeží in Havířov.
