Held annually in October in the capital of the Free State of Saxony in Germany, the Dresden Marathon offers four very scenic races:

All routes begin and end on the edge of the historic city centre with its many impressive Baroque buildings.
The 42.2km marathon consists of two different laps of a certified and gently-undulating course which runs through the city centre, along the River Elbe, and through the beautiful ‘Großer Garten’ park.
Approximately two kilometres of the marathon are run on cobbles or on gravel.
The time limit to finish the race is 5hr 30min.
