Ljubljana (Slovenia), Saturday 9 May 2015
The Tek trojk in Ljubljana is one of Slovenia's most popular running events. Around 6,000 runners took part in the event last year.
The ‘Troika Run’ offers three races — 3km for children, 12.5km, and 29km.
Participants must form a team of three runners (male, female, or mixed).
It is not possible to run as an individual without a team. All three team members must run the full distance, and all three must cross the finish line together!
The 12.5km and the 29km routes both begin and end in Ljubljana's stunningly beautiful historic centre, and both take the runners through the eastern part of the city and across the densely-wooded Golovec hill.
Some sections of the course are on gravel roads and trails.
The Tek trojk forms part of the annual celebrations that commemorate the liberation of Ljubljana at the end of World War Two.
