Mosonmagyaróvár (Hungary), Sunday 17 May 2015
Held in the town of Mosonmagyaróvár in the north-western corner of Hungary (near the borders with Austria and Slovakia), the Szigetköz Minimaraton attracts a field of more than 600 runners.
Two race distances are on offer — the 4km Dunamenti kör ("Danube Loop") and the 16km Minimaraton.
Participants in the 16km race run through agricultural areas and villages on the Szigetköz, a flat 50km-long tract of land that is bounded by two rivers, the Duna (Danube) and the Mosoni Duna (Moson-Danube).
The 4km route runs through residential areas and along the Mosoni Duna.
