The Majcichovská desiatka (or M-10) 10k race in Slovakia is a long-standing road running event that has been held, with interruptions, since 1979.
The course records were set by Jozef Lenčéš (29min 41sec) back in 1982 and by Ľudmila Melicherová (34min 21sec) in 1987.
Held in the village of Majcichov, which sits in the Danubian Lowland in western Slovakia, the course is flat, fast, accurately measured and certified.
The race begins at 11.45am with a ceremonial start at the municipal office from where all participants jog together to the start line which is 1,015 metres away.
Starting at the stroke of 12 noon, competitors run back to the municipal office. Then, it's three laps of a 2,995-metre course.
Last year, 343 runners finished the M-10 race.
