Entrants can choose to take part in just Stage 1 or Stage 2, or to run all three stages to complete the whole tour.
All races begin and end in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia's highest resort, situated at an elevation of 1325m above sea level.
Stage 1 is a 4.5km-long summer night run around the glacial Štrbské pleso lake (pictured below).
Stage 2 and Stage 3, however, are very challenging trail races which take the runners up and down the slopes of the Tatras.
The Extreme version of the Tatry Running Tour incorporates the highly-demanding 36km-long Sky & Clouds Run, which features 2,100m of ascent (and the same of descent). The highest point on the course is at an elevation of 2,030m.
As the event takes place within the boundaries of the Tatra National Park, entries are limited to 200 runners in the Classic race and 100 runners in the Extreme race.
