The Silvestrovský beh medzi mostami ("New Year's Eve Run between the Bridges") is one of Slovakia's oldest running events. This year it will celebrate its golden jubilee.
Held in Piešťany, the largest spa town in the country, the race features a very fine setting and a scenic course.

Starting at the Kolonádový most ("Colonnade Bridge", pictured above), the route is a 1.25km-long loop which takes the runners along the River Váh, across two bridges and through the spa complex which is located on an island in the river.
