The Marcia degli Alberoni is a non-competitive event for runners and hikers, held every year in early December on the coast of the Gulf of Trieste in the north-eastern corner of Italy.

Three flat routes are on offer (7km, 14km and 18km long), starting and finishing at the Marina Hannibal on the edge of the shipbuilding town of Monfalcone.

All routes are on mixed terrain (asphalt, gravel and trails) and well marked and marshalled, and there are several aid stations along the course.

The registration process is simple. Just turn up, pay the entry fee (€ 3), and off you go. You can start to run (or walk) at any time between 9am and 10am, and you can still decide on the course which route you want to take.

The 18km route takes the participants along the coast, along two canals, through a beautiful nature area at the Isonzo river mouth, and through the small beach resort of Marina Julia.
