The Rajecký maratón in Slovakia features a 21.1km half marathon, a 42.2km marathon, a 22.1km inline skating race, and two children's races.

All races begin and end on the main square of Rajec, a small town of about 6,000 people, situated in the Rajčanka river valley in the north-western part of the country.

Both the half and the full marathon begin with a 2km loop through Rajec. Then, the route runs out and back a country road along the valley into the Strážovské vrchy mountains. The course is not closed to traffic.

The first half of the race is uphill (+100m of elevation gain in the half marathon, +200m in the marathon).

The turning point of the marathon is in the village of Čičmany, which is well known for its beautiful folk architecture.
