68th Devin - Bratislava National Running Race 2015

Devín - Bratislava (Slovakia), Sunday 12 April 2015

The 11.6km Národný beh takes an international crowd of more than 5,000 runners from the impressive ruins of Devín Castle (pictured) along the River Danube to the city centre of Slovakia's capital Bratislava.

More than 5,000 athletes took part in last year's 67th edition of the event.

Before the race, participants can use the free bus service from Bratislava to the start area at Devín Castle, which sits on a steep rock at the confluence of two rivers (the Morava and the Danube) on the border with Austria.

The castle played a prominent role in the history of Slovakia, and it is regarded by many as a symbol of Slovak nationhood.

The event also offers a 2.6km run for young athletes and recreational runners.

Finish: at the Cafe Propeller, Rázusovo nábrežie, Bratislava

Entries: online with payment by bank transfer (up to 4 April 2015); late entries on 9-10 April 2015; no entries on the day

Race centre: on 9 April and 10 April 2015 (14.00-18.00): at the ‘Plaváreň Pasienky’ swimming pool, Junácka 4, Bratislava; runners from outside Bratislava can pick up their bibs on the day (7.00-8.00) on Kúpeľná ulica (near the finish)
