14° Soltn Maratonina in Montagna 2014

The Soltn Berghalbmarathon (‘Soltn Mountain Half Marathon’) is held annually in September on the beautiful Salten Plateau near the city of Bozen (Italian: Bolzano) in Italy's autonomous province of South Tyrol where most people speak German as a first language.

The course begins and ends at an elevation of 1226m in the village of Jenesien (Italian: San Genesio). The highest point on the course is at 1514m.

Overall, the route includes 520m of ascent and 520m of descent.

The race is run almost entirely on trails through lovely woods and mountain pastures. Only the first 2km are on asphalt roads.

Last year, more than 300 runners took part in the Soltn Berghalbmarathon. The winners were Gabriele Abate (1:15:30) and Antonella Confortola (1:27:34).

The time limit to finish the race is 2hr 50min.
