Capriva del Friuli (Italy), Sunday 21 September 2014
The Bismarcia is a lovely non-competitive running and hiking event, held in the village of Capriva del Friuli near the town of Gorizia on the Italy-Slovenia border.
The event attracts 500 or more participants every year.
Three routes are on offer—6km, 11km, and 18km long. All routes are undulating on mixed terrain (trails, gravel, asphalt) through farmland, vineyards, and woods.
There's no need to register in advance. Participants can turn up on the day of the event, pay the entry fees of €3, and start running at any time between 8.30am and 9.30am. They can still decide on the course which distance they want to run.
