The flat and fast half marathon course through Udine, a city of about 100,000 people in the Friuli area in the north-east of Italy, attracts approximately 1600 runners.

In 2013, Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai, one of the world's fastest marathon runners, set a fantastic new course record of 59min 6sec. His compatriot Correti Jepkoech won the women's race in 1hr 10min 4sec.

Starting and finishing on the magnificent Piazza Libertà in the beautiful Old Town, the route takes the runners through the densely populated area to the north of Udine and around the city centre.

The time limit to finish the race is 2hr 45min.

In addition to the half marathon, the event offers a non-competitive fun run, the ‘StraUdine’, which consists of a 7.5km loop around the city centre.
