This international marathon running event is held on the monumental (and very flat) boulevards of Bucharest, capital of Romania, a country that can look back on a long and successful history of distance running.

The event offers children's races, a 2.9km charity run, a half marathon and a full marathon which consists of two laps of the half marathon course.

All routes begin and end on Constitution Square in front of the gigantic Palace of Parliament, the largest parliament building on the globe.

The 2.9km run is one loop around the palace whereas the half and the full marathon races take the runners out and back along Bucharest's truly impressive boulevards, as well as along the River Dâmbovița and around Romania's national football stadium.

The time limit to complete the course is six hours.
