Participants in the Visoški tek run 9.7 kilometres of an undulating out-and-back course along the lovely Poljane Valley (Poljanska dolina), situated in the wooded hills between Slovenia's capital Ljubljana and the Julian Alps.
The start and the finish are at the country manor house of Visoko pri Poljanah, which is located 10km from the picturesque old town of Škofja Loka.
The route is mostly on gravel roads and trails. Some sections are on asphalt roads.
In 2013, the top finishers were Peter Oblak (32:09) and Petra Race (40:02).
