Held in the old city of Verona in northern Italy, the Straverona attracts a crowd of up to 20,000 runners and walkers every year.

The event is a manifestazione sportiva non competitiva, a non-competitive fun run. Thus, finishing times will not be recorded, and there will be no results lists. Prizes will be awarded to the largest groups, not to the fastest finishers.

Participants can choose between three routes — 5km, 13km, and 21km.

All routes begin and end at the Arena, Verona's gigantic Roman amphitheatre, situated on Piazza Bra in the beautiful historic city centre.

The 5km route is a flat loop through the Old Town whereas the 13km and 21km routes also take the runners along the River Adige and up the hills north of the city centre.
