Held annually on May Day, the Lauffestival offers a half marathon (four laps), a 10.5km quarter marathon (two laps) and a 5.2km run (one lap), as well as children's races and nordic walking competitions.
All routes begin and end in the village of Bad Blumau which sits amid rolling hills in the state of Styria in the south-eastern part of Austria.
The route is a gently-undulating loop through the village and farmland and through the Rogner Bad Blumau (pictured), a thermal spa complex designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Participants receive a voucher for an entry ticket to the spa but as entries to the Rogner Bad are limited they need to make a reservation beforehand if they want to use the voucher on the day of the event.
