Held in the lagoon city of Venice in Italy, the Su e Zo per i Ponti di Venezia attracts around 10,000 or more runners and hikers every year.

"Up and down the bridges of Venice" is not a race, it's a non-competitive fun run without timekeeping or results lists. Every participant receives a medal, however, and prizes are awarded to the largest groups.

Starting at 10.30am on the magnificent Piazza San Marco, the route is a 12km loop which crosses 43 of Venice's bridges.

The event also features a folk group parade (at noon).
