Wrocław (Poland), Saturday 14 June 2014
Around 6000 runners from more than 30 countries are expected to take part in this year's half marathon of the Nocny Wrocław Półmaraton, to be held on a Saturday night in mid-June 2014 on the streets of Wrocław, the largest city in western Poland with a population of about 630,000.
The race begins and ends at the Olimpijski Stadion, a multi-purpose stadium built in the 1920s in the eastern part of the city.
After an out-and-back detour to the northern outskirts of Wrocław, the route takes the runners around the Old Town and then through the oldest parts of the city with its many medieval churches.
The route crosses several bridges across the River Odra, including the graceful little Most Tumski (pictured).
The time limit to finish the half marathon is three hours.
